Bits & Pieces #31

Went to a convention of No Labels, the other day. No Labels is an organization that is trying to convince members of congress to abandon their polarizing stances and come together to get stuff done. They are a very encouraging group but every time I start to think there’s hope for sane minds accomplish something a new bobble head doll pops up to prove how hard that will be.

Texas Republican, Steve Toth has put himself forth on the moron platform with a piece of legislation that will make it a felony for any federal law enforcement officer to try to enforce any federal firearms laws in Texas. Why are they almost all southerners?

Anyway, this cretin hasn’t bothered to take into account that the state law he wants to pass is unconstitutional because it violates a section of the constitution that says that no state law can contravene a federal law, which is the supreme law of the land.

When Toth was told about this problem he replied that the constitution was wrong and that we have to do everything we can to undermine it. You can’t make these up, folks, you just can’t make them up.

It seems that neocom, pond scum like Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Bill Kristol, Don Rumsfield and Richard Perle, the dreck that created the Iraq war by inventing weapons of mass destruction where they never existed, the men who lied us into a war, only to get oil that we never got, the men who are responsible for the deaths and dismemberment of thousands of our young men and women have a very vocal opposition to Chuck Hagel,  whom the President has chosen as his Secretary of Defense.

These degenerates really hate Chuck. Why? Maybe it’s because he doesn’t want to start wars all over the world, which seems like the perfect reason to back him all the way. Did any of these chicken-shit assholes ever put on a uniform for their country? Did any of them ever get shot for it? Maybe if Rumsfield had his leg blown off by a Vietnamese bomb he wouldn’t have been so quick to send our kids to Iraq in the futile hope that we could steal their oil.

Just when you think the anti-abortion nuts have sunk as low as they can, they prove that you have no idea what low really is. Sure Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock are terminal assholes but they are, after all, men. Dumb men, but men. Now along comes a woman who makes them seem almost human. Her name is Cathrynn Brown (R) New Mexico and she has introduced a bill in New Mexico that would make it a felony, punishable by 3 years in jail for a woman who has been raped to abort the fetus and get this, the reason is that she will be destroying evidence. This will also be true for any doctor who aids her in the abortion.

So the raped woman is, according to this brain dead bimbo, to carry the fetus until after the trial because, according to her logic the baby is evidence of the rape.  The question seems to be, how can we make a rape victim suffer more than she already has?

If Brown isn’t the dumbest, least sensitive woman in New Mexico, maybe that stain belongs to Governor Susan Martinez, another Republican who proposes that a woman who gets pregnant from rape has to prove it was forcible if she decides not to have an abortion, in order to qualify for childcare assistance. I have to ask my friend Jim Cooney what they’re putting in the water down there.

The debt limit:

Under Reagan congress raised it 18 times. Under George HW Bush they raised it 7 times. Obama cut the deficit & slowed spending to its lowest level in 50 years. What the hell are we talking about here? Get these clowns out of congress.

People get angry when I refer to many of the rich as greedy pigs. Well. Many of them are. Not all, not by a long shot, but far too many. To me the question has always come down to how much does it take for a human being to live comfortably. How many yachts are enough, how many houses, how many cars? And of course, the real question; did you get where you are by trampling on someone’s life.

Wal-mart made $15.4 billion in profits in 2011. A Wal-mart employee who makes $11.00 per hour, which is far above the average, non-management pay, will gross $22,880 per year. I haven’t figured out what the take home is from that but it’s not a living wage. If Wal-mart paid each of their workers $5000 more, less than 23% extra, they would still gross over $7 billion and said employee would almost make a living wage in those locations where living is cheap. Actually Wal-mart pays between $7 and $9 per hour to most of its employees. I wonder how the Walton clan would like to work for those wages?

The Walton’s have surely created an awful lot of employment in this country but just think of how much better off those who work for them could be if the Walton’s were able to settle for a billion a year apiece and spent the rest on their faithful employees. I know, employees aren’t always faithful, but enough are, that the company makes an enormous profit. It would be a better world if the Walton’s weren’t greedy pigs.

All politicians talk about helping the people, fighting for the middle class but just about two weeks ago we got a realistic look at just what these lying pond scum really mean, when Mitch McConnell, Max Baucus and Orin Hatch, two republicans and one democrat slipped a little loophole into the New Years eve deal that kept the government from going over the fiscal cliff.

The loophole allowed Amgen, the world’s biggest biotech firm, two more years of relief from Medicare cost controls for patients on kidney dialysis. These are really great people.

Amgen employs 74 lobbyists in Washington and they all fought their asses off to achieve this screwing of the American taxpayers. Eventually Baucus, McConnell and Hatch made it happen, abandoning their constituencies and going for the big bucks. They are a disgrace to the whole system; they should be run out of office. I’m neither a lawyer nor a prosecutor but there has to be a money trail from these three hacks and Amgen and it should lead to felony prosecution.

So George Bush’s e-mails were hacked. Is that ironic or what? How does it feel George, to know that big brother is watching?

Lindsay Graham wants to know what the President knew about the Benghazi attacks, that killed four Americans, before they happened. The rest of us want to know what George Bush knew about 911, which killed 3000 Americans, before it happened. Get a life Lindsay.

I love it when we hear post disaster that the people who caused it didn’t think it would happen. Sheriff John McMahon, the clown in charge of capturing Christopher Dorner, the cop who went on a killing spree against LA cops, by burning him out, was actually dumb enough to make this statement.

“I can tell you it was not on purpose. We did not intentionally burn down the cabin to get Mr. Dorner out. …. Then we used – the next tear gas was pyrotechnic, does generate a lot of heat. We introduced those canisters into the residence, and a fire erupted.”

A fire erupted. Quel surprise. They threw pyrotechnic materials into a wooden house and it actually burned. Can you imagine?  How stupid can this jackass be? He wanted to get Dorner and he didn’t want to get any of his guys killed. Admirable. He then burns down somebody’s house, but he does get Dorner. Fine. The city pays for the house and everybody goes home happy, but to then come out with this brain dead statement that he didn’t think throwing incendiary material onto wood would start a fire only proves that he is too stupid to breathe.

There are many things I believe in and many things I hope for, but the end of nuclear weapons is one thing that I have no faith in ever happening. I wish it would, but it just won’t. In a world where there are so many bad people, people completely without morals, it would be foolish for the United States to destroy it’s ultimate deterrent.

I applaud the Global Zero movement and its leaders but I truly think they are being naïve. Their concept that it would be a safer world, just isn’t true. All it takes is one entity, one nation, one small group that has managed to retain a nuclear strike power and the whole concept of a safe world would quickly disappear.

In a world overflowing with the evil and the duplicitous, it is simply dumb to expect that no one would violate such a situation in a grab for man’s most exhilarating king maker.

  1. The problem with New Mexico water is that there’s not enough of it to go around. These clowns have to hydrate more!
