Let’s Look at the bad Guys

In an earlier blog we spoke a lot about Barak Obama and whether or not he was the right guy for the job. Now, with the Republican candidates starting to line up to try and take Obama’s job we’re going to take brief looks at them to get a reading on whether or not they shape up as presidential fodder.

For almost all of Barak Obama’s presidency the Republicans have been whining about the fact that he hasn’t taken them into his confidence, hasn’t made them part of the process. If there is any reason to continue to wonder why, all one has to do is look at the recent debt cap negotiations.  Why bother to take the Right into his confidence when all they are after is to cut off his head.

Here we have the Republican’s, who played a major role in creating the government’s unsustainable debt, meeting with Obama in an attempt to settle the debt limit problem, throwing a hissy fit and stalking out of the talks.

The pair of Republican losers who were in the talks, Eric Cantor and Jon Kly proved once again, this time by walking out, that they have no intention of helping solve any of the nation’s problems.  Their only objective is to cause Obama’s mission to fail, no matter how badly it hurts America.

No one on the Right had any intention of negotiating at all. Negotiating implies a give and take that is completely absent any Republican involvement. You can add to this position the names, Mitch McConnell, John Pence, Tim Perry and any number of Right Wing no-nothings whose agenda has nothing to do with helping the country out of debt or increasing employment, but only to make Obama fail.

I have been speaking to a number of Republican friends over the last couple of months and a majority of them seem to understand that what I say above is true but still many of them hold to the economic principles that are the basis for Cantor, Kly and their buddy’s stupidity. I’m not saying that the principles are stupid, just that they are incorrect. I am saying that the manner in which those principles are being applied to promote a roadblock to any progress on the problems of pulling our country out of its economic doldrums is moronic because all it will accomplish is more people out of work, less education, worse infrastructure, worse healthcare, a general lessening of the American standard of living and the end of the American Dream.

In the midst of all this political folly, Tim Pawlenty, ex-governor of Minnesota tells us he wants to be president. He shows us what a valuable president he will be by campaigning to dump Amtrack because it doesn’t make money. Great idea Tim! Should we also roll up the highways, shut off the water systems and fire the army because they don’t make money? Eight years of George Bush has more than filled our century’s quota for clueless presidents. Do we really have to entertain the idea of someone dumber than Bush as our next president? They are public utilities, Tim. They are not supposed to make money. They are supposed to provide access to the means for people to make money, like getting them to work, etc. Thank God he qiut. Let’s hope he stays quit.

Speaking about not being presidential material. Texas Governor Rick Perry now wants to be president of a country he wanted Texas to secede from. That’s right the dim bulb from Big D tried to make that happen when Obama was elected.  Maybe he should have paid attention to why Obama was elected instead of mirroring the dolt Obama replaced. Perry boasts about creating jobs in Texas and he has actually done that. Unfortunately he has done it at the expense of being the most polluting state in the nation and the one with the highest percentage of residents without health insurance.

He can also boast of ranking 43rd out of 50 in high school graduation. The state does turn out superior high school football players but unfortunately most of them can’t get into a decent college.

Jon Huntsman, announced the other day and many intelligent conservatives took heart. Here, seemingly, is a guy who understands problems, doesn’t cater to the Teabaggers and wants to have a civilized campaign. It appears obvious the kind of chance he’s going to have with the white trash and God mongers. I mean this is a guy who actually speaks in complete sentences. He only appeals to Republicans who hate Republicans.

Michele Bachmann was on Face the Nation, carefully following the party line, trying desperately to not admit what was already recorded by the camera, that she was for eliminating the minimum wage and that she called Obama Anti-American.  Before that she was on with Ben Wallace and she wasn’t as careful, She managed to admit that she was banking all her energies on repealing Obamacare even though typically she obviously didn’t understand the economics of the bill. Even Mitch McConnell, in a lucid moment admitted that Obamacare would save half a trillion bucks in it’s first two years of function. And in yet another piece of brilliant oratory the other day she stated that everything she ever learned, she learned in Iowa. Of course she left Iowa at age 12. Draw your own conclusions.

I look at Bachmann and Romney and I think of the two kids who got voted best looking in high school and then wondered how come all the nerds got to be successful while she worked in a Wynn Dixie and he pumped gas for a living.

Of course Sara Palin hasn’t thrown her bra in the ring yet and unless she’s even dumber than I think she won’t. How do you possibly overcome the stigma of quitting as governor of Alaska, the only significant job she’s ever held? Well maybe by quitting her recent bus tour with the excuse that she had been called to jury duty, making her possibly the only person in history who lied about what she was doing to get on jury duty.

Then as if they weren’t a sorry enough lot, the Republicans, hired a black comic, Reggie Brown, who does a great impression of Barak Obama to do his act recently at a fund raising affair,

Everything went great until he stopped roasting Democrats and started on Republicans. He had barely gotten Michele Bachmann’s name out of his mouth when some fat white guy showed up on stage to escort him off. Was this dumb or what? Whoever decided to pull Reggie off the stage should be forced to hunt with Dick Cheney. If they had let him finish his act there would have been a couple of bent noses in the audience and that would have been the end of it, Now the guy has national exposure and will probably be on every show on TV just because the Republicans were dumb enough to censor him. This is only one reason we don’t want them running the country.
