The Administration Has Run Amok

Watched Ed Haislmaier, scabrous slime from the Heritage Foundation lying about healthcare on MSNBC. No matter how they cut it, the GOP degenerates who are defending different aspects of the new Trumpcare that they passed through the House, can’t get away from the fact that the only people who will get healthy from their legislation are the already rich who will save eight hundred eighty three billion tax dollars that should be going to pay for healthcare for those who can’t afford it.

Watching the GOP politicians trying to justify the mess they voted on in the House this week is disgusting. Paul Ryan comes on the tube and lies about almost everything he speaks to, but most disgusting is when he whines that the insurance companies will “be forced” to leave the system if they don’t make enough money from it. Great! Terrific! Who gives a rat’s ass if the insurance companies can’t make money off the sick?

The only system that will work is single payer. Get insurance company profits out of the system and there will be a hell of a lot more money to pay for sick care and research. Ryan has lied so much about healthcare that he no longer knows where the truth lies. He is a disgrace to the nation. He claims that the goal of his bill is to stabilize healthcare. Bullshit! His goal is to save almost a trillion bucks in taxes for the richest 1% is the country at the cost to poor, sick people.

What’s really interesting is Trump’s role in the whole process. Usually a President will come into the process with ideas of is own that he wants to include in a bill. Trump, as usual, had no ideas. The only thing he wanted was to pass a bill, any bill, so he could say he fulfilled his campaign promise, run a phony ad and have a party & press conference in the Rose Garden. Trump, after all, in case you missed it, is still campaigning. Passing any bill just to get a bill passed is; in case you don’t get it, exactly the wrong reason to want to pass a bill.

Take a good look at Trump’s America. It was on display in the West Virginia Sate capital the other day when veteran reporter Dan Heyman was arrested for asking HHS Secretary Tom Price if domestic abuse would be considered a pre-existing condition under the health bill the House had passed and sent to the Senate. Neither Price nor Kellyanne Conway who accompanied him would answer the question and when Heyman continued to push for an answer he was arrested by West Virginia Mounties. Heil West Virginia! With the President slithering out of his Russia problem by firing the man who was investigating him, we now see his lackeys acting like Hitler aids Boremann and Göring toward legitimate press. Trump’s fake news accusations have long ago gone stale and his attacks on the mainstream and cable media decidedly tell the tale of a man who has no answers to legitimate questions and only tells lies his public. If this kind of fascist treatment of the press is allowed to continue we will be jeopardizing all of our freedoms. When asking a legitimate question is allowed to become an arrest worthy offense, this counry has already sunk into the mire of fascist dictators all over the world. Why are we opposing Assad in Syria when we have the same kind of would be dictator right here in this country?

Because he had a little time on his hands between firing the man who was breathing down his criminal neck and trying to lie his way out of why he fired him, Trump has pushed the midget racist Jeff Sessions to investigate the three million voters who allowed Hillary to win the popular election.

Sessions has formed a committee led by Kansas Secretary of State, the renowned bigot Chris Kobach who has already been successfully sued over his racist attacks on voter registration four separate times. This is so typical of what this administration is attempting to do all over the country. Trump’s ego just won’t accept the fact that he really lost the popular election. It gnaws at him like a mangy dog with a rotten bone.

Yeah, that’s right, voter registration is certainly the most important thing on the table right now, especially considering that Trump refuses to accept the Russians hacking our last election.

Betsy DeVos was invited to speak this week at the commencement ceremonies of Bethune-Cookman University, a black college in the south. It’s hard to believe that the administration of Bethune-Cookman was stupid enough to invite DeVos but that DeVos was brain dead enough to accept is beyond belief. The student body, in an altogether expected reaction to this idiot bigot speaking at their graduation rose and collectively turned their backs to her. For those of you who are just off the train from outer space, let me explain that DeVos as Secretary of Education has already established herself as against everything that would have benefited those graduates on their journey to a diploma. DeVos, who was appointed to her post because her father was a big donor to the Trump campaign is the antithesis of every forward thinking educator in our system. No sane President would have appointed her and no intelligent President would accept her insane concepts. The current administration and faculty of Bethune-Cookman is obviously completely out of touch with reality.

With all the noise about possible impeachment moves after Trump’s dictatorial actions in the last couple of weeks, one has to look at what those moves actually mean. It is a clear and given fact that Trump has the right as President to fire certain members of the government and that Preet Bharara, Sally Yates and James Comey all fall into that category. So yes, Trump had the right to fire all of them. But just for a second let’s look at the concept that we all have a lot of rights yet we don’t always exercise all of them because of extenuating circumstances. The extenuating circumstance here is that all of the above were in one way or another working on cases that involved both tbe Presidency and the administration in ways that could eventually lead to criminal charges against Trump himself. This put Trump in a rather awkward situation, especially if he really fired these people because he thought they were in some way incompetent when the obvious reason was that they were each in some way breathing down his neck.

The reality, no matter what kind of bullshit the White House lays down is that all were fired because Trump could feel the heat and like any coward reacted illogically out of fear. This is classically how the guilty are caught. Their fear of discovery leads them to illogical acts that are easily seen through and their guilt is eventually discovered. That’s what is happening to Trump. He is Raskolnakov in Crime and Punishment. He panicked, fired Bharara, Yates and Comey and now, any logical thinker sees that his actions were prompted by fear that his involvement would be revealed.

His next move will be to appoint a new director of the FBI who is so blatantly prejudiced in his favor that he will curtail the FB’s investigation into the Russian involvement in our elections and the Trump team’s involvement in that action. Such an appointment will eventually lead to a revolution in the Republican Party. Those who are holding out in the hope that Trump can still help in getting their favorite bills passed, will realize Trump is actually standing in the way of any success they might hope for. They will band together to go after him for the venal way in which he is conducting his Presidency and that’s when impeachment becomes a reality. Not until that moment when the GOP discards this phony Republican and choses survival through impeachment will the country have a real shot at surviving itself.

But then I took a look at what the list of replacements looks like and became instantly depressed. First on the list, of course is our Vice-President, a fundamentalist Christian fanatic, a little to the Right of Adolph Hitler, who would run the nation from a point of opposition to what happens between a woman’s legs. He might not be around anymore anyhow because the lies told by him in defense of Trump. might just drag him down too, so let’s go on.

Next is Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, who has already sold out to the rich and the corporate and will absolutely destroy the poor and the middle-class. He is followed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate, Orin Hatch, which is a very sick joke, as are the list of horrifying nominations to the Cabinet by Trump. It includes in order, Rex Tillerson, Steve Munuchn, James Mattis, Jeff Sessions, Ryan Zinke, Wilbur Ross, Andrew Pudzer, Tom Price, Ben Carson, Elaine Chao, Rick Perry, Betsy DeVos and John Kelly, a rundown of incompetence, stupidity and outright insanity that defies duplication. Keifer Sutherland where are you?

Nicky Haley our ambassador to the UN was being interviewed the other day and she referred to Trump as the CEO of the nation. That’s exactly the problem with our administration and especially our President right now. The President isn’t the CEO of anything. He is a President of a democracy and as such he is required to act in accordance with the constitution and is bound by certain restrictions that are not involved in the process of being a CEO. Trump and his whole government have to learn this or our country will be in bigger trouble than it is now… if possible.

Whether a lot of Democrats wanted Jim Comey fired, whether or not he was incompetent as charged by Trump, whether he handled the Clinton email investigation the right way or not are all irrelevant to the problems with his firing. The only relevant fact about that firing was that it was done by the man who tended to lose the most if Comey had been successful and found a link between him and the Russians in their attack on our elections. Whether or not that link is ever found, Comey’s firing, because of what he was doing at the time, is an obstruction of justice and that is a felony and a possible link to treason.

There was an interesting debate between Lawrence Tribe professor of law at Harvard and Ken Starr who was the independent prosecutor of Bill Clinton back in the 1990’s. On second glance it wasn’t very interesting because Tribe gave multiple legitimate reasons why Trump should be impeached all based on law and the constitution while Starr depended on the single argument that we didn’t want the nation to go through all that trouble. It was actually ludicrous and Starr revealed himself to be a buffoon. Tribe pounded on the fact that Trump keeps demanding that we believe him when all he does is lie to us. That’s the bottom line. Trump has not been honest with anyone since he appeared on the public scene years ago. We either stop him or become his victims.

Watched an interview with former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, which was a primer on professional civil service. This is a man who gets it, who understands how government works and what one has to do to achieve a successful career in government service. He is the antithesis of Donald Trump. He explained in detail how to fire a high-ranking government official. One was immediately aware of the fact that Trump had failed at each step in the process of firing Comey. Gates speaks to getting all ones ducks in a row before acting, about making sure that everyone involved is on the same page so you don’t look like the blundering Neanderthal that Trump did. He speaks to reason in the excuse for the action and of optics, so important in the political scene. His discourse exposed Trump for the political novice and ignorant clown that he is.

And even as I am about to publish this piece the airwaves are being flooded by the news that our incompetent-in-chief actually revealed classified information to the Russian Ambassador at their meeting a few days ago. The media was worried about Sergey Kislyak seeing something that he shouldn’t in the oval office t. They had nothing to worry about. Our President was more than willing to tell them anything they needed to know even if it was classified and would be endangering our allies from whom the information had come. There will be a lot more about this during the coming weeks. Even if Trump isn’t impeached he should at least, like any unruly dog,  have his nose rubbed in the pile of shit that is his administration.,
