The Democrats can analyze their loss in the presidential election and everything that went wrong with it until their balls fall off but what it comes down to, is that the GOP had more guts and drive and that’s that. If you don’t believe it, they proved it conclusively on Jan. 3, 2017 when they gave up control of the Supreme Court for at least a year, simply because they didn’t have the guts to shove it in the Republicans faces and make the appointment of Merrick Garland when they could.
The GOP gave a sigh of relief, laughing in the faces of those Democrats who weren’t cowering under their desks and then, as their first act as a controlling congress, ordered up the demolition of the ethics commission, thereby stating flat out, that now that they have complete control of the government they intend to start stealing with both hands and a foot. We’re talking about everything that isn’t nailed down.
To his credit and you know how hard this is for me to say, Trump stepped up and shut them down. What he saw was the swamp he wanted to empty, overflowing with alligators and all of them were Republicans hungry for the people’s money, the money belonging to the suckers that voted them into office.
The Democrats are now whining about how they really won the popular election when it doesn’t mean a God damned thing. They flog themselves about James Comey, Hillary’s emails, Benghazi, Bill’s problems with women and every other lame excuse they can come up with but their real problem is that they could have overcome all of it if they just stood up on their hind legs and punched the Republicans in the nose when they came at them with all that lame crap.
It was obvious from the beginning of the GOP primary that this was going to be an election about bullshit and the Progressives just didn’t come up with enough or the right bullshit, but more important they didn’t get low enough and they didn’t counterpunch with the dirtiest scandals.
Michele may have gotten off a good slogan with, “when they go low we go high,” but it was the wrong strategy in an election where the votes were coming from the kind of people who put their own wants before the needs of anyone else or for that matter the country.
When Trump was caught talking about grabbing pussy the Progressives were too embarrassed to play it to the hilt. Instead of jumping on that piece of film and riding it as far as they could, they backed off and let Don the Abuser slide his way out of one more trap. When Trump started yelling Crooked Hillary, they just didn’t have the guts or the attack mechanism to play up what a serious felon he is and how everything he said about anyone else was based on his own criminal actions.
None of it stuck because the only Democrat who was up to hammering Trump for the fat, lying, crook he is was Elizabeth Warren and she had already given up her place at center stage. Bernie was so busy selling his one trick pony that he forgot to sell the fact that Trump was a lying degenerate pig and Hillary instead of saying, “yeah I had my own email server, so what!” was always busy trying to guiltily wriggle around it. What she should have declared is; sure she had the damned sever, it was far more functional to do things that way. There was no law against what she did and besides, her server was a hell of a lot more secure than anything the government has come up with so far. No one had hacked her server but it seems, that everyone and his brother hacked every other server in Washington, including the FBIs. Everything else was pure crap and mendacity and what were they going to do about it? Then she should have gone on to list all the things that she was going to do for the country that Trump wasn’t going to do and to point out how she had real plans and all he had were, “terrific” plans.
Somehow or other politics in this country has, over the last half century, become a gentlemen’s sport. Then Donald Trump came out of the garbage and showed them all how to win an election. Now it’s back to the way it was in the nineteenth century and the Democrats just don’t have a clue how to play by the healthy old rules of combat that once existed in our congress. You don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. It’s dog eat dog and Trump showed them how dogs fight. Let’s see if one of these elite do-gooders has it in his or her gut to fight back like somebody who really wants to win, because if they can’t find such an animal the Democrats can kiss what’s left of their asses goodbye for the next fifty years.

Paul Ryan was on the tube the other night demanding the end of government subsidies for Planned Parenthood, excoriating that organization for using taxpayer money to fund abortion and generally lying about everything he spoke about. Why? Because he was using that phony political smoke screen to cover up the GOP snake oil scheme to eliminate the congressional ethics committee, thereby allowing all the crooks in government to steal everything they want without facing jail terms. This is standard GOP tactics but because the Democrats are so ineffectual it almost always works.
Watched a panel of six left leaning pundits, a couple of them pretty smart who all sat around and tried to prove the already accepted fact that Planned Parenthood uses no government money to provide abortion services. They hemmed and hawed and tried to blow Ryan’s house down instead of standing up on their hind legs and yelling at ne top of their lungs that Ryan is a bloody liar, a crook and a degenerate phony who is just using Planned Parenthood as an excuse to lead us away from the real problems.
Any moron knows that abortion is not a national problem. What, you don’t believe me? Ban it and you’ll see what a national problem is really like. Abortion affects a miniscule percent of the citizens of this country. That alone makes it a non-problem. Fading infrastructure is a problem. Lack of proper education, environment, jobs, taxes, healthcare and defense are all problems. The GOP congressmen stealing from the American public with no ethics watchdogs looking over their shoulders is a huge problem, just as was the reduction of regulations by the Republicans that allowed the business community to steal trillions from the American public during the crash.
The Republicans hate anything that keeps them from grabbing your money. They aren’t satisfied with making tons of it themselves, they also want to take yours and Paul Ryan is the leader of the pack. As stated above, abortion isn’t important but it is certainly the kind of issue that can get the crowds riled. True believers all over the country come up screaming and waving the flag and the cross when we show them pictures of little babies and tell them that these are what those aborted fetuses would become. Of course they don’t know that. Maybe the kids would come out as monsters or maybe they would have monstrous parents but no one cares about that. That’s the logical side of the argument and God forbid that logic ever enters any discussion about abortion. It’s much safer to just leave it where it is, as a political smoke screen.

Then there was the big demonstration to object to the inaugural. To what point? That’s right! What was to be gained? We already know that three million more people than voted for Trump are pissed off. So what? Nobody gives a rat’s ass about your angst. Maybe if you’d gotten up off your fat butts and convinced the dumb kids who lost with Bernie not to throw away their votes on clowns like Johnson and Stein, we’d have had a different result but all that’s over now. Don’t waste any more energy on whining about being losers. There are only so many times that organizers can get out the fans for a serious demonstration. Don’t waste it on whining about the fact that the other guy beat your brains out. Save it for when you want to make a serious point about actually doing something, stopping a bill that would get rid of Obamacare when they don’t have a replacement, or doing something specific about the environment; something, anything, but something with a point like the demonstrations against the Muslim ban which just maybe had some effect on how those judges ruled to stop it. The point is; save it for when it counts. We already know you’re miffed. We just don’t give a shit.

Welcome to the Fatherland! Another Reich is emerging led by Donald Drumph, Steve Bannon and Steve Miller, haters in the true Nazi tradition. Much like the Third Reich of pre-war Germany, Mr. Drumph’s Reich is aiming its message of hatred against Semitic peoples only this time it’s the Muslims instead of the Jews.
But not all Muslims are affected, only those that come from countries where Drumph doesn’t do business. The country that is the single largest importer of terrorists to this country, Saudi Arabia, the nation from which came most of the 911 terrorists is not included in the ban. Why not? Because Drumph has hotels and oil interests in that country and God forbid that he lets a little thing like being President of the United States get in the way of Drumph profits.
But profit aside, where do these fascist ideas come from? Could it be that Steve Bannon, Drumph’s neo-Nazi advisor is finally achieving his political wet dream?
Malcolm Nance in a discussion of Bannon; explained that Bannon has long espoused a philosophy of cooperation with Russia against the Muslim world but if we attack the Muslim world can the Jews be far behind? Bannon hates them as much as he does any non-white race on earth. After all, Steve is just another Ku Klux Klan member and speaking of the Klan, I revisited a picture of the White House staff and latest Drumph appointees being sworn in the other day and there surrounding Kellyanne Conway, Bannon and Reince Pribus were so many pasty white faces, it looked like a Klan or Tea Party rally. This is Drumph’s America; all white, mostly fat and seriously dumb. This is what 27% of registered voters in this country voted for. How do you like it so far?

During his election campaign Trump talked to great advantage about making America Great Again, about what a disaster this already great country had become, about how he would fix everything. We have already seen how he plans to attack immigrants coming to this country, about how he has no use for the Constitution and is willing to ignore it at the peril of freedom for everyone. Now he is setting his sights on Chicago, certainly a city with a high murder rate and seemingly no stomach for lowering it. But do we really want the federal government stepping into our cities? It’s interesting that the political roles have been reversed in this situation. Conservatives who have long fought for states rights and against any federal intervention in local law or politics are now backing Trump in his invasion of Chicago while Progressives who have always been for strong federal government are now backing away from Trump’s, hinted at, Federal invasion of that city.
