Bits & Pieces #71

Trump, the ultimate outsider, has hired Paul Manafort; the ultimate insider to run his campaign. Manafort claims that Trump has run away from the field because he has distanced himself from those who messed up the system. Okay, so where does that put Manafort, who helped to elect most of the clowns he’s now denigrating?

Donald Trump seems to think that being the first female president brings nothing to Hillary’s arsenal. Sure there hasn’t been much enthusiasm for that element as long as Bernie is the opposition. Bernie too, is a big supporter of women’s rights and programs, but once the opponent is Trump who has insulted and denigrated woman from the beginning of his public exposure, the tone of the whole discussion will change. Once Hillary’s opponent is Trump and not Bernie the women’s argument will become a tidal wave, inundating Trump’s dangerous, idiotic and unpopular positions.

John Brennan head of the CIA claims that the 28 pages of the 911 Committee that have been classified were hidden because they were inaccurate and not vetted. He says all the information included has been investigated separately and there is nothing in them that would prove Saudi Arabian complicity in the attack. That sounds lovely, but let’s take a look at the reality of the Saudis in this situation and just how good an ally they have been to the United States in the past..

Almost all the men involved with 911 were Saudi’s. None were trained for what they would do; all needed help here in the States. There was a significant Saudi group in this country. Many of whom were illegally flown out of the country despite a no fly edict that President Bush instituted and then ignored, in order to get his oil buddies to safety.

What the hell do we expect from the Saudi’s who generated Wahhabism, the fanatic sect that has inspired ISIS and most of the fanatic terrorists in the Middle East and is responsible for the war between the Sunnis and the Shiias.

Don’t forget that Osama bin Laden, a member of the royal family in Saudi Arabia, was the financial angel and leader of al Qaeda, the principal terrorist group in the area before ISIS figured out a way to get more attention by committing more disgustingly brutal and inhuman atrocities.

Brennan can say what he wants but it is obvious to anyone who has any interest in that region that Saudi Arabia had a lot more to do with 911 than any other player in the game.

Peabody Energy, the world’s largest private-sector coal company has filed for bankruptcy. As was accomplished by Donald Trump in his legal bankruptcy filings, this is an attempt by a billion dollar industry to cheat someone out of their fair share of what they have coming in what looked like an equitable deal. In Trump’s case is was The Donald, screwing investors out of their just compensation or creditors out of what Trump owed them. This is the cheat that little Trumpies in high rises and trailer parks all across the country are flocking too. Makes you proud to be an American, don’t it?

In the current case, it is it is Peabody Energy trying to screw the people of the United States out of Peabody’s contracted responsibility to restore the demolished landscapes of the states in which they have been making billions of dollars by mining coal.

Peabody has stated, that by this bankruptcy filing they; “intend to reduce their debt level, (Read screw their creditors), improve their cash flow and position the company for long term success, (Read accumulate enough cash to run for Taipei).” What an unmitigated crock of shit! Is Peabody CEO, Glenn Kellow, so stupid that he doesn’t understand the coal industry is dying and there will be no long term or even short term success, or is he just a world class liar?

Peabody is more than $6 billion in debt, recently missed a $71 million interest payment and has been trying, unsuccessfully, to sell off its mines in New Mexico and Colorado.

What this filing is really about, is Peabody trying to avoid the costs of mine reclamation and cleanup and to dump those costs on the American people while salvaging some cash for the owners to run with. There is nothing better for the health and well being of the nation and the world than the death of a coal company but the greedy pigs that profited from these messengers of death should not be allowed to walk away from their responsibilities with millions of dolars, while the decimation they created on the American landscape is allowed to remain for the rest of us to clean up.

Of course they have protected themselves and distanced their fortunes by means of armies of lobbyists and serious bribes to the “RIGHT” people but it is essential to the American people that these monsters be held personally responsible for the damage they have done to the planet.

Then Trump proves that in order to work for him you have to be just as big an asshole as he is. His former butler, now the curator of Mar – a -Largo came out with a string of invectives against President Obama, calling him all kinds of names and saying he should be shot and hung and then making a comment about how the Presidential residence used to be the White House. This scrawny little bigot is a direct reflection of the clown he used to work for.

The question has been asked; Do voters care about Trump’s policies or is it his tone and language that they flock to? This would be a difficult question if Trump had any viable policies to examine. The problem is, he doesn’t. Calling for all Mexicans to be deported or all Muslims to be kept out of the country might be the banner for a policy, but without any details on how to accomplish these ends they are not policy but just hot air.

One then moves to the other part of the question and one sees that his tone and language are equally unacceptable except on a Trump construction site.

It was Donald Trump who pledged to reveal his tax   returns back a few years ago if Barak Obama would reveal his birth certificate. Yeah, that was during his

involvement in the birther movement. You remember them, a bunch of bigots who were choking on the idea of a black man sitting in the White House. Well, Barak revealed his birth certificate but Trump, the liar, never released his tax returns. He still hasn’t. This time his new excuse is that he is being audited. Well, the IRS tells us that here is no reason for someone who is being audited not releasing his tax returns so Trump, as usual, is full of shit!

It’s fascinating to look at Trump’s success and try to understand how he has gotten where he is. Sure the middle and lower middle classes are angry about how they see their lifestyles flushing down the drain. Sure they are angry at the GOP establishment that has been promising them for decades that they will solve their problems but have only helped the rich and have subsequently ignored everyone else. This syndrome is also illustrated in the rise of Bernie Sanders but there is a huge difference between the two men and their programs, if what Trump is spouting can be called a program.

Sanders has hammered home his program from day one with no change and no variations. He wants higher wages, regulations on banks and Wall Street, a comprehensive medical coverage and a number of social programs that fit his progressive thought process. All these programs fit the wants and needs of both the Trump followers and the Bernie followers. So how does Trump stack up on these counts?

Well, he says he is going to address these problems while making America great again. But when reporters attempt to nail him down to specifics; he really doesn’t want to raise the minimum wage, he wants to eliminate the ACA but doesn’t have any idea of how to replace it. He’s more interested in attacking people coming over the Texas border and people fleeing terrorism than he is in advancing any social programs and while he’s busy calling everyone who disagrees with him names, he doesn’t deny an endorsement from the likes of Klan scum David Duke. If this is your idea of presidential material you must have been raised and educated in North Korea.

Will the GOP, despite all the anger, finally get together in a unified movement behind Donald Trump? From where I sit the answer is an unqualified yes. How could this be? It’s very simple. The Republicans and this might be just as true about the Democrats, care little for good or evil, regardless of how much they talk about it. What they all care about is power. What they really care about s holding onto their jobs no matter how much that hurts the country or the people who reside therein. These guys are all slime.

The voters of the Right, having been screwed for decades by the Republican establishment, are screaming for Trump. They don’t, despite all the signs, realize he will not solve their problems; he will actually make the country worse. They are still willing to vote for him because they are too stupid to accept the obvious fact that he is a liar, that the people they voted for before him were also liars and that no politician can fix, that they are too dumb, too lazy and far too stupid to understand anything but their own prejudices, all the things that have put them where they are now.

Watched the penultimate Republican, Jeff Sessions, old, white, dumb as a post, bigoted and willing to do or say anything or kiss any ass, to keep his overpaid job in he Senate. He has been on the dole from the gun makers for so long he doesn’t remember when it started. He is a master at one thing, repeating the thoughts of others as he mimics the words of idiots like Rience Priebus, Mitch McCollough and other low intellect members of the GOP.
