The Benghazi Blowout

Wow! Who’d a thought it? Just when the GOP was getting some traction in their phony attacks on Hillary Clinton for Benghazi and emails, the clown who was maneuvering for the third most important job in the country, brags, in a massive Fox News blunder, that Hillary’s involvement in the whole Benghazi noise was nothing but a GOP plot to cost her position in the polls.

Then comes accusations by an committee investigator who claims that the Republican leaders of the Benghazi investigations forced him to drop his investigation into how the military handled Benghazi and concentrate on how to get the State Department and Hillary Clinton involved. This, when coupled with Kevin McCarthy’s dumber than dumb admissions, has really blown the lid off the GOP positions on Hillary and that unfortunate moment in our history.

Then to top it off, Congressman Richard Hanna ® NY comes out with the news that it’s obvious that the panel was impaneled simply to spread dirt on Hillary. So it’s three Republicans., al admitting that this whole fiasco was just a GOP wet dream. What dummy would believe anything coming out of the mouths of any of these Republicans after this?

When Jason Chaffetz, would be Speaker of the House, was asked about this accusation, he ducked the question with such an amateurish lack of skill, as to make the accusation appear more truthful and relevant.

It now seems clear to all but the most deluded right wing partisans that the Benghazi investigation was clearly a figment of the Republican imagination, generated in an all out attempt to discredit Clinton. That being said, it brings into question all the other accusations being made against her, especially the huge nothing of the email investigations.

It fell to Congressman Charlie Rangel, a man not unfamiliar with shady deals, to explain the truth of the whole situation and to press the media to forget about the juicy scandal details and publish the facts of whatever the situation is. Rangel pointed out that there is a hard core group of Republicans in congress, led by the infamous Freedom Caucus that are willing to do anything, no matter how dishonest to achieve their goals, and that is the reason that no one wants the job of Speaker. It has become an impossible job to do because the Speaker must deal with those who are willing to take down the government to get their way. They care nothing of governance, but only, like spoiled children, what they want.

The name McCarthy has always given off a bad odor in American politics. From the degenerate, Tail Gunner Joe who trampled on American’s rights during the witch hunts of the fifties, ruining lives and decimating careers, to Eugene McCarthy, whose ill-advised run for the presidency, first against LBJ, then Robert Kennedy and finally Hubert Humphrey in the 1967 elections, so splintered the Democratic party that Richard Nixon, the curse that walked like a man, won the election; to our present day idiot, Kevin who once hoped to lead the House into – what? Hell at least. The name McCarthy has long been a curse on both our houses of congress.

So what happens after Kevin goes on national TV and brags that Benghazi is really a Republican plot to discredit Hillary and have her lose points in the polls. Is he really too stupid to understand that this could lead to felony charges? Doesn’t this moron understand that the deliberate waste of millions in taxpayer money to perpetrate a political fraud is actually a felony? I’m already getting beautiful images of Issa, Gowdy, Boehner and Cotton in stripped outfits.

One would think that this kind of revelation, based on the kind of thought process that goaded it into being, would also impact the e-mail accusations against Hillary but that is not to be. Those who are looking for, or manufacturing, more baseless claims against her, were at it again, first thing this morning, when Joe Scarborough and his coterie of pathetic sycophants jumped on the phony e-mail issue for the entire first part of the program. Then one of them was dumb enough to mention McCarthy and his stupidity. It stopped conversation like someone had dropped a bomb in the studio.

Of course, The NY Times, a staunch Hillary opponent, was not willing to print any kind of story on the subject, burying a brief reference to it in the bottom of a story on how McCarthy had gotten his popularity in the GOP by being a glad handing buddy to many of his fellow representatives. Yeah, that’s what this country needs, a hail fellow well met, party boy, two steps from having his finger on the button

But where does all this put us? For years Democratic or just open-minded writers have been saying that most if not all of the scandals that have involved the Clinton’s were simply constructions of the GOP strategists and that none of them held water. Now we have proof, the un-coerced confession of one of the leaders of the GOP and two others. And McCarthy’s bragging about it. He is obviously completely brain dead.

No matter what Attorney General Loretta Lynch has on her plate this morning she should be drawing up indictments on half the Republicans in congress because most of them have had their sticky little fingers in the Benghazi pot, trying with all their might to pull out some of Hillary’s entrails

McCarthy could not have given Hillary a better present if he had gift wrapped the hides of the Koch brothers, well tanned and made into slip covers for her favorite sofa. What he did do is hand her the heads of Issa, Gowdy, Boehner and Cotton impaled on their own petards. Where does this latest version of the eighth hearings fraud go when they interview Clinton on October 22nd? What kind of relevant question can they possibly ask her? They were already limited by the now widespread knowledge that Clinton had no responsibility for the defense of the compound where our Ambassador and three CIA guards were killed. That was the responsibility of the CIA and the Pentagon. The Secretary State in not and has never been a field commander and everyone but the Republicans on those failed Benghazi panels has always seemed to know that even if they did not make a big deal of it.

Of course it never sunk in that they should have used that knowledge to stop this farce before someone too stupid to breathe stepped in, inadvertently blew the whistle and identified all the members of this and previous panels as co-conspirators, who were simply looking to discredit Hillary Clinton for political reasons. In doing so they have put themselves and everyone associated with any of the panels in a position to be indicted for felony misappropriation of taxpayer funds. Stupid is as stupid does.
